Ericsson, LG Inks U360 HSPA Platform License Agreement

Ericsson recently announced that it has entered a license agreement with LG, under which the company will license its U360 platform based on HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) technology to LG. This platform provides support for 3.6Mbps HSDPA (High Speed Download Packet Access) and quad-band EDGE/GPRS (Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution/ Enhanced General Packet Radio Service), allowing phone makers to develop ultra-small HSPA mobile phones. Financial details of this deal were not yet known.
